For now, apply mesilliac's fix for erroneously unlinked, disappearing

items. If I'm reading the code correctly, monsters::reset() is only called by monster_cleanup(), and monsters::destroy_inventory() is generally called just before monster_cleanup(), which makes the call to monsters::destroy_inventory in monsters::reset() seemingly redundant.
